Dementia Care at home
Care at home
It's important that the right support and care is available for those who have dementia, and for those who are living with or caring for a loved one with dementia. We support people with dementia to continue living at home safely and we also support their families through what is a tough time.
Our dementia care workers receive specialist training for dementia care and dementia awareness, they understand how the condition affects the individual, their family, and those around them. With our person centered approach, we ensure that we don’t just meet the needs of the individual we support but also the whole family.
Routine is important
Living well with dementia means continuing with the things that make you who you are. With support at home, your loved one gets to choose their favourite meals, keep their cherished pets and maintain their hobbies and interests.
Our person centred care and support ensures that we support those with Dementia in a way that is meaningful to them.
Helping someone with every day tasks
In the early stages of dementia, many people are able to enjoy life in the same way as before their diagnosis. But as symptoms get worse, the person may feel anxious, stressed and scared at not being able to remember things, follow conversations or concentrate. It's important to support the person to maintain skills, abilities and an active social life. This can also help how they feel about themselves.
