What is respite?
Caring for someone can be very rewarding, however at Invercare we understand that it can also be very stressful. Respite is a break away from your caring role, which can be anything from a few hours in an afternoon, to a couple of days. We can support you with respite care whilst you go out and meet friends, have a holiday, or just go for a coffee or to have some space to yourself. It is entirely up to you, we will tailor the service to meet your needs.
We understand it can be hard to let go and let someone else care for your relative or friend, but respite care is vital to your wellbeing. Getting some time to yourself and helps to retain your own sense of identity, and gives you time to recharge.
What will the respite carer do ?
The respite worker will provide all the usual home care services including personal care, companionship, food preparation, medication , house work, laundry , shopping, assistance with appointments and outings etc.
