What is end of life care and palliative care?
End of life care is support for people who are approaching death. It helps them to live as well as possible until they die, and to die with dignity. Palliative care is help for those who have an incurable illness to feel more comfortable, by controlling pain and other distressing symptoms .
Many healthcare professionals can be involved in providing end of life care, depending on your needs. Hospital doctors, nurses, GP, community nurses, hospice staff , social services, religious ministers, physiotherapists or complementary therapists. It is Invercare’s aim to work with you and these professionals to support you with your needs.
What type of help can I get?
End of life care and palliative care is personal for each customer. Together with you, your family and other professionals, we will put together a personal plan to ensure that your wishes and preferences are met.
